Supercheap Auto is seeking a commercially minded Category Manager to own the Braking category in Strathpine, full time onsite. We're looking for a commercially minded Category Manager to take ownership of our Braking category – shaping the range, building supplier partnerships, and influencing how we meet our customers in an important automotive category.

About the role

You will develop and execute category strategies that drive sales, profitability and customer value. You'll analyse market trends, identify growth opportunities, build compelling product ranges and work with suppliers to deliver the right products at the right price.

Partnering across Merchandise Planning, Demand Planning, Marketing, eCommerce and Retail Operations, you'll play a key role in bringing category plans to life and ensuring our customers can confidently shop the products they need.

What you'll be doing

  • Developing and delivering category strategies that drive growth, profitability and market share
  • Managing product ranging, range reviews and assortment optimisation to deliver the best customer offer
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and negotiating commercial outcomes that support business performance
  • Monitoring category performance, identifying opportunities and driving initiatives across pricing, promotions and product lifecycle management
  • Collaborating with planning, marketing, eCommerce and retail teams to deliver a seamless omnichannel customer experience

What you'll bring

  • Buying, merchandising or category management experience within retail, automotive, trade or a related industry
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Experience analysing sales performance, margins, range productivity and growth opportunities
  • Confidence building supplier relationships and participating in commercial negotiations
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across a broad business
  • A genuine curiosity about products, customers and what drives category performance
