What you’ll be doing 

As Category Manager, you’ll own the strategy and performance of the Camping category, working from concept to customer: 

  • Own and deliver the Camping category strategy, driving growth, profitability and market share end-to-end 
  • Lead range planning and reviews, identifying new product opportunities and optimising existing ranges 
  • Drive commercial performance across pricing, margin, promotions, clearance and cost of doing business 
  • Build and manage strong trade partner relationships, including negotiation on price, supply and terms 
  • Partner cross-functionally with Merch Planning, Demand Planning, Retail and eCommerce to execute the strategy 
  • Stay ahead of customer trends and competitor activity, keeping the category relevant and differentiated 

What we’re looking for 

  • Proven experience as a Category Manager within a retail environment building and executing annual category or business plans 
  • A genuine passion for camping and the outdoors (category experience desirable, outdoor passion is essential) 
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot trends and turn insights into commercial outcomes 
  • Strong trade partner management and negotiation capability (local and/or offshore sourcing) 
  • Demonstrated experience owning category financial performance (sales, margin, promotional levers) 
  • Confidence influencing and partnering with senior and cross-functional stakeholders
