Job Description

As a Category Specialist within our Procurement team, you will support the Category Manager to execute broader category portfolio strategies while directly leading the end-to-end category management process for defined sub-categories.
We are recruiting for a Category Specialist across each of the following portfolios:

  • Construction & Fitout + Capital Equipment
  • Marketing
  • Maintenance Repairs & Operations
  • Packaging & Consumables. 

You will take ownership of strategic sourcing strategies and end-to-end contract lifecycle management with a focus on reducing costs. 

Additionally, you will partner with cross-functional business stakeholders to drive procurement policy compliance while actively championing Endeavour's Sustainability and procurement’s Supplier Diversity roadmap.

Here's a snapshot of the responsibilities:

  • Support overall portfolio strategies and lead category development, sourcing strategies, RFXs, contract negotiations, contract management plans, and supplier relationship/performance management (SRM/SPM) for defined sub-categories.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency while representing the EDG Category Management team.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the business to understand their requirements, provide guidance on procurement decisions, and promote a clear understanding of the Procurement Policy.
  • Conduct market research and data analysis to identify emerging trends, potential risks, and optimisation opportunities via spend analysis and tail spend management.
  • Monitor and report on supplier performance and contractual compliance, addressing discrepancies as needed. 
  • Champion sustainable procurement practices by integrating environmental and social considerations into decision-making.

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • You bring at least 3 years of category management, sourcing, or procurement experience.
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing commercial strategies.
  • You possess strong knowledge of procurement good practices, contract negotiations, supplier management, and E-Purchasing platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-savvy ability to interpret complex spend data and make informed commercial decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to influence stakeholders, present clearly, and collaborate effectively with partners at all levels (including ExCo, Group Legal, Risk and Compliance, and Group Finance).
  • Highly self-organized with high attention to detail and strong time prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment. 
  • You are collaborative, inclusive, authentic, driven, flexible, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
  • Strong Coupa experience, tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law, or a related field, and CIPS membership are highly regarded.
  • Experience within the relevant categories, Construction & Fitout + Capital Equipment, Marketing, Maintenance Repairs & Operations, Corporate Services or Packaging & Consumables would be advantageous.
