About the Job 
We are seeking a Category Strategy Manager to join our Consumer Business Unit, based in North Sydney.

This is a great opportunity for someone from an FMCG, category, trade marketing or commercial background who enjoys turning insights into clear commercial action.

You will work closely with the Category team to identify where the category should play, how innovation and portfolio strategy can work to unlock growth, and how insights translates into execution across all channels

You will turn insights from consumer, shopper, customer and category into clear strategies, quantified growth opportunities and executional plans. 

This role suits someone who is analytical, commercially sharp and confident bringing insights to life in a way that helps teams make more informed decisions and drive category-led growth

Key Responsibilities  

  • Identify range gap opportunities and seek solutions for new innovation and recommendations

  • Use data to analyse performance and competitor assessment

  • Lead the Go-To-Market strategy across all markets

  • Embed category strategy into innovation pipelines, portfolio planning and market execution

  • Build channel and customer execution plans across Pharmacy, Grocery and Ecommerce, supporting both new launches and existing brands.

  • Analyse promotional, scan and shopper data to identify opportunities, improve ROI and support stronger commercial outcomes.

  • Monitor competitor activity, promotional performance and customer trends, sharing practical actions with the business.

  • Support pack, price and mix strategies

Ideally you will have 

  • Experience in FMCG, consumer healthcare, beauty, personal care, pharmacy, grocery or a similar fast-paced consumer environment.

  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to understand sales performance, promotional impact, margin and customer growth drivers.

  • Proven track record delivering innovation-led or portfolio-led growth

  • Confidence working with scan, shopper or customer data, ideally using tools such as Circana, IQVIA, Quantium or similar.

  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to turn complex data into simple, commercially useful insights.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work across Sales, Category, Marketing and Trade Marketing.
