Advice For Applicants For The Flint Local Shuttle Driver Role

Lead with your Class A CDL and your local shuttle eligibility. Put your CDL-A and your 21+ age right at the top of your resume, followed by a concise note about your ability to meet DOT requirements and your safety-focused driving history.

Show proof of the must-have skills by example. If you have a clean driving record, document a period when you maintained DOT compliance and performed thorough pre-trip inspections. Highlight any prior shuttle or local-route work, and speak to how you kept deliveries on time while following safety protocols.

Prepare for interviews by readying stories that demonstrate how you handle scheduling, communication with dispatch, and responding to changing customer needs. Be ready to discuss how you would approach pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and share how you stay compliant with DOT rules in daily operations. If you’re a recent graduate, be prepared to discuss your T2T training experience and how it applies to this role.

Ask a smart question about the specifics of the T2T program and how recent grads might qualify for exemption based on prior experience. You might also ask what a typical Flint route looks like, how often shifts run, and what the team expects for on-time performance and safety metrics.
