Your team

The Retail Banking Portfolio Management and Performance team exists to optimise decision making by the Retail Leadership Team, to build a brighter future for all. The team is relentlessly seeking to improve the strategic quarterly planning process, performance oversight, financial governance and workforce management. The team is actively involved in shaping the future of change management at the Group, including design and implementation of tooling. Your role

As a Performance Chapter Lead, you will provide strategic and people leadership across Everyday Banking, partnering with senior business and technology leaders to optimise performance, planning, prioritisation and workforce outcomes, while coaching and developing Senior Performance Leads, building future capability, fostering an engaged and high-performing culture, and ensuring consistent delivery of the Performance craft across Everyday Banking.

Your Impact

You will be part of the Retail Bank’s Performance Chapter and Everyday Banking Senior Leadership Team. The Performance Chapter is responsible for ensuring that the CBA Retail Bank has the strategy, portfolio and processes in place to deliver the Group’s vision and enable RBS’s ambitions.

More specifically you will:

  • Orchestrate the annual and quarterly planning cycle to achieve business outcomes efficiently, delivering the domain’s Annual Operating Plan and quarterly EGM Memos.

  • Track and report progress against the domain’s objectives and key results; leverage data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Lead, coach and uplift the capability of your direct reports to ensure best in class and consistent practices across the domain.

  • Manage high complexity and change, solve problems and operate with an enterprise mindset

  • Facilitate Domain governance forums and monitor compliance with Group delivery frameworks, enabling effective decision-making, delivery oversight and risk management.

  • Establish, monitor and enhance the domain’s operating rhythm, cadences and tools to optimise executive decision making.

  • Act as a conduit across teams to facilitate information flow, ensure commitments can be delivered, and risks and issues are escalated.

  • Support tracking of agility metrics working closely with the Agility practice to identify opportunities to improve execution, velocity and business value for the domain.

  • Analyse and interpret complex data and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to drive business decisions.

  • Lead the development of chapter practices, centralised operational procedures and tools, and support driving consistency and standardisation across all domains.

  • Effectively develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders including your EGM, Crew Leadership, Retail Product leaders, Finance, Compliance and Risk

  • Ensure adoption of the Group's group delivery framework, technology and methodologies.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • A strategic thinker, problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a background in strategy, program delivery, product, finance, or consulting - highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels, including ability to challenge the status quo.

  • Results-driven mindset and motivated by a relentless focus on performance, measurement, alignment of work to outcomes and continuous improvement.

  • Excellent financial or governance management skills to ensure tracking and monitoring is accurate and maintained at all times.

  • Demonstrated experience in analysing data and performance, and dissecting metrics.

  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management in complex environments adhering to compliance obligations and developing ‘risk resilient’ cultures.

  • Experience working in financial services industry - preferred.
