Lincoln Tech’s WorkforceLinc division is seeking an experienced chassis and trailer technician to join as an instructor in Houston, with a Monday through Friday on site schedule and up to 50 percent regional travel. You’ll stay hands on in a real shop, teaching chassis and trailer repair while modeling what good work looks like and providing clear feedback to help students build confidence. Expect to cover core systems including air brakes, trailer and chassis electrical, suspension and wheel end components, and to emphasize safety, troubleshooting, and professional practices. A safety first, credibility driven mindset is crucial; you don’t need teaching experience, but you do need to explain why tasks are done. Requirements: ability to obtain a TWIC card and regional travel, welding and FMCSA/IICL familiarity are a plus. Emphasize your impact on the next generation, pride in the trades, and your ability to mentor with patience. Lincoln Tech offers benefits, long term stability, and growth opportunities.

Lincoln Tech's WorkforceLinc Division

Want to contribute back to your trade? This role is for experienced chassis and trailer technicians who want to give something back to the trade that built them.

You’ll stay hands on and connected to the work—while helping shape safer, better prepared technicians entering the industry. Instead of grinding through another decade of wear and tear, you’ll invest your experience where it matters most: training the next generation.

What You’ll Do

  • Teach hands-on chassis and trailer repair in a real shop/lab environment
  • Model what “good work” looks like—troubleshooting, maintenance, and safe practices
  • Instruct students on core systems including air brake systems, trailer and chassis electrical, suspension and wheel-end components
  • Coach students through real tasks and help them build confidence and discipline
  • Provide clear feedback and track skill development
  • Maintain a safe, organized, industry standard training environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Professional experience working on chassis, trailers, or similar heavy-duty equipment
  • Strong working knowledge of air, electrical, suspension, and wheel end systems
  • Ability to explain why something is done—not just how
  • A safety first, professionalism forward mindset
  • You don’t need teaching experience. You need credibility, patience, and pride in the trades.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card
  • Willingness to travel regionally (up to 50%, Monday–Friday)
  • Nice to Have (Not Required)
  • Welding experience
  • Familiarity with IICL and FMCSA standards
  • Reefer unit and generator experience

Why Experienced Techs Step Into This Role

  • Make a meaningful impact on the future workforce
  • Stay engaged in the industry without constant physical strain
  • Predictable weekday schedule
  • Pride in passing down correct, safe, and professional practices
  • Training programs built with real industry partners and real expectations
  • Professional development and advancement pathways

  • Long term stability with an established institution (80 years)

Schedule & Travel

  • Monday–Friday workweek
  • Houston primary location
  • Up to 50% regional travel between training locations

Benefits (Full Time)

  • Medical, Dental, Vision
  • Life & Disability Insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
