Job Description

What you will be doing: 

  • Manage a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Work closely with fellow chefs to maintain flexibility and teamwork across all kitchen areas.
  • Prepare and cook dishes with precision, urgency, and consistency, following recipes and quality standards.
  • Uphold food safety and hygiene standards in all food handling, preparation, and storage.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment that meets all health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor stock levels and inventory, anticipate needs, and communicate effectively with supervisors.
  • Minimize food waste and control costs through efficient practices and standardized recipes.
  • Ensure buffet stations are well-presented, regularly replenished, and responsive to guest demand.
  • Support the successful delivery of food service for conferences and events.

  

Qualifications

 

  • NZQCF Level Diploma or A qualified chef with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated creativity and flair in menu execution and food presentation.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • A positive team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in a hotel or commercial kitchen is highly regarded.
  • Available to work on a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays. Morning and Afternoon shifts.
