What you will be doing

Within the Direct Category Management team at head office, the Category Manager manages at global level the Chemical category for Waste Activities to maximize its contribution to performance (TCO, risk management, operational performance, innovation, etc.), business development (innovation, differentiation, regional anchoring) and supply chain sustainability. He/she acts as business partner with internal stakeholders. 
He/she defines, executes and steers the Chemical category strategy to capture sustainable value for SUEZ. 
He/she is very operational, by being on daily /regular contact with local sites to solve issues and arrange logistic & supply solutions to maximize performance on sites for France, and in coordination with Chemical buyers outside France. 

Defining and steering a category strategy 
- Develop and maintain category expertise and market watch including competitors, suppliers market, market trends & innovations, in connection with technical experts.  
- Understand and challenge current and future business needs including demand management in accordance with BU procurement teams to be aligned with BU category strategy.
- Build & steer category core team globally (including O&M Category leader, Project Buyer, key BU and DU stakeholders, etc.).

Global approach for BUs and DU
Co-design global category strategy with category core team (using appropriate levers: contractual negotiation, contract implementation and compliance, standardization, demand management, TCO, TVO, etc.).

Participation in tenders
Participate to commercial bid and add value and differentiation. 

Risk management
Risk management and mitigation plan anticipation. 

Supplier relations
Organise Business Review with strategic suppliers (with Feedback (REX), current projects/works, coming projects/works…).

Specific BUs approach
Lead RFQ for strategic projects (out of E&C).

Supplier Relationship Management and optimization 
- Negotiate, execute and monitor global agreements (KPIs, continuous improvement, customer/supplier balance, etc.).
- Manage or support contractual or business litigations (escalation process).
- Support BUs and DUs in Global/local supplier or contract negotiations.
- Support CSR initiatives related to category. 

Category performance steering
Track & report category performance globally (KPIs, reporting, etc.) to procurement/management/business 

Global category animation

Who we are looking for

Business and/or Engineering school. Master's in Procurement.
At least 5 years’ experience in a procurement role.
Technical appetite.
The following are considered an advantage: prior knowledge of the product category, as well as knowledge of the market and suppliers.
Hard skills: negotiation, communication skills, risk management.
Soft skills: leadership, open and collaborative mindset, customer focus.
Fluent English.
