Tips for applicants
Lead your resume with your NZ Registered Nurse practising certificate and your dedication to caring for older people, then back it up with concise evidence of the care you’ve provided and the outcomes you’ve supported.
Show how you meet the must-have skills by sharing concrete examples of clinical assessments you’ve completed, how you’ve documented care accurately, and how you’ve led or supported care staff to deliver high-quality nursing care.
Be ready to talk about building relationships with residents, whānau and allied health professionals, and about your comfort using IT and clinical systems in daily practice. Have a short story ready that demonstrates collaboration and learning in action.
Consider asking a targeted question in the interview about development opportunities, such as what leadership paths exist for RNs at CHT and how ongoing training is integrated into day-to-day practice. A thoughtful question can show you’re thinking about long-term growth within the not-for-profit setting.
