Job Description

AECOM is looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Transport team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers on a diverse range of civil infrastructure projects, while developing your technical skills and industry knowledge.

How you'll make a difference

• Support the delivery of bridges, structures and port projects across rail and civil infrastructure under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Assist with technical tasks, including engineering calculations, drawings, reports and project documentation.
• Collaborate with civil, rail, geotechnical and multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits and inspections to gain practical experience across different stages of project delivery.
• Learn about project planning, quality processes and engineering best practice while building your technical and professional skills.
• Support teams with client interactions and business pursuits.

Qualifications

• Summer Intern attributes: Interns who are curious and excited to apply their studies in a professional environment. You'll bring strong communication and teamwork skills, a positive and proactive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to professionalism and integrity. 
• Bachelor’s Degree: You must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering with an interest in transport infrastructure. 
• Commencement: Able to work full time hours from mid November 2026 – mid February 2027. 
• Working Rights: You must have full working rights to work in Australia or New Zealand before applying. We do accept candidates with student and graduate visas.
