AECOM’s Civil Engineering Intern - Transport in Auckland offers a 12-week, paid on-site program from mid November 2026 to mid February 2027, giving you real project exposure across planning, design and management of major roadway infrastructure while working with multidisciplinary teams. You’ll contribute to innovative, sustainable solutions and have the chance to progress to the graduate program, supported by the Summer Series and engagement with senior leaders. To stand out, demonstrate curiosity, strong communication and teamwork, adaptability and integrity, and show how your studies apply to real world design and construction. Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Civil Engineering Intern! You will have the chance to work on a variety of projects alongside experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights into the civil engineering field. Our projects range from large-scale initiatives to smaller, detailed works, providing you with a broad spectrum of learning opportunities.

• Assist in Project Development: Support projects at different stages, from initial concept design to construction and operation.
• Contribute to Design and Management: Help with design tasks, project management, and engage with stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Innovative Solutions: Work with the team to develop creative and sustainable solutions for diverse engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with Teams: Participate in multidisciplinary teams to help deliver and maintain major roadway infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Summer Intern attributes: Interns who are curious and excited to apply their studies in a professional environment. You'll bring strong communication and teamwork skills, a positive and proactive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to professionalism and integrity. 
• Bachelor’s Degree: You must be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering.
• Preferably holds a full New Zealand driver's license.
• Commencement: Able to work full time hours from 16 November 2026 – 19 February 2027. 
• Working Rights: You must have full working rights to work in New Zealand before applying.
