Elsewedy Electric is seeking a Civil Senior Engineer for its Abu Dhabi Power UAE team, a full time onsite role to lead civil design for Overhead Transmission Line projects from 33 kV to 500 kV, including tower and foundation design, structural analysis, and cross functional coordination with electrical, geotechnical and construction teams. The ideal candidate has 8–12 years of civil experience with at least 5 years in EPC power transmission and proven OHTL project experience, including lattice towers and monopoles up to 500 kV and exposure to international clients. Responsibilities include reviewing calculations and drawings, preparing MTOs and BOQs, ensuring compliance with IEC, ASCE, ACI, BS and Eurocodes, conducting site visits, and supporting QA QC under ISO 9001 and HSE. - Lead the civil engineering design for OHTL projects ranging from 33kV to 500kV (or higher as applicable).
- Design and review tower foundations, pile foundations, raft foundations, chimney foundations, and retaining structures.
- Perform structural analysis and foundation calculations considering geotechnical reports, wind loads, seismic loads, uplift forces, and tower reactions.
- Review and approve civil engineering calculations, design reports, and construction drawings.
- Coordinate with tower designers regarding foundation loading data.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, ASCE, ACI, BS, Eurocodes, and project specifications.
- Review survey reports, topographical data, and geotechnical investigations.
- Prepare material take-offs (MTOs) and bill of quantities (BOQs).
- Optimize foundation designs to achieve cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Coordinate with electrical, structural, geotechnical, procurement, construction, and planning teams.
- Participate in engineering review meetings with clients and consultants.
- Resolve technical queries and provide engineering support during construction.
- Review vendor documents and subcontractor engineering submissions.
- Support procurement activities by reviewing technical specifications and vendor offers.
- Provide technical assistance during excavation, reinforcement, concrete works, and foundation construction.
- Conduct site visits to resolve engineering issues.
- Review non-conformance reports (NCRs) and propose corrective actions.
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings and quality standards.
- Support testing, inspection, and project commissioning activities.
- Ensure compliance with project Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).
- Follow HSE requirements in accordance with company policies and client standards.
- Support implementation of risk assessments and engineering safety reviews.
- Prepare engineering reports and technical documentation.
- Review method statements and inspection test plans (ITPs).
- Maintain engineering records and revision control.
- Submit weekly and monthly engineering progress reports.
Qualifications
- 8–12 years of civil engineering experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in EPC power transmission projects.
- Proven experience in Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) projects.
- Experience with foundations for lattice towers and monopoles.
- Familiarity with projects ranging from 132kV to 500kV is preferred.
- Experience working with international clients and consultants.
