Abu Dhabi Airports is seeking a UAE National Claims Analyst to evaluate, prepare, and manage construction related claims arising from delays, cost impacts, variations and contractual disputes. The role requires strong FIDIC/NEC knowledge, engineering literacy, solid financial analysis, and the ability to interpret drawings, schedules and BOQs. You will produce professional claim submissions, dashboards and briefing notes, support negotiations or dispute resolution, and coordinate with legal advisors, consultants and project teams to protect the organization’s position. For applicants, highlight at least five years in claims analysis on large projects, experience with delay analysis methods, and entitlement determination. Certifications in contract management or arbitration are a plus; emphasize cross-functional collaboration and precise documentation.


The Claim Analyst is responsible for evaluating, preparing, and managing construction-related claims arising from delays, cost impacts, variations, and contractual disputes. The role requires strong expertise in contractual frameworks (including FIDIC/NEC), engineering knowledge, solid financial analysis capability, and the ability to interpret technical project documentation such as drawings, BOQs, schedules, and site reports.

The role holder works closely with project teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure effective claim assessment, robust documentation, and timely resolution, protecting the organization’s commercial and contractual position.

 

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze claims related to delays, disruptions, variations, and cost impacts.
  • Conduct detailed delay analysis using recognized methodologies (e.g., Time Impact Analysis, As Planned vs. As Built).
  • Evaluate entitlement in line with contract conditions (FIDIC/NEC or equivalent).
  • Validate accuracy of supporting documents including drawings, schedules, BOQs, progress reports, and correspondence.
  • Prepare professional claim submissions, reports, and position papers for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all documentation is clear, coherent, and aligned with contractual requirements.
  • Support senior management by preparing dashboards, summaries, and briefing notes for negotiations or dispute resolution processes.
  • Assist in reviewing and preparing documentation for negotiations, settlement, arbitration, or other formal dispute processes.
  • Coordinate with legal advisors, consultants, and project teams to ensure consistent positions.
  • Provide factual, data-backed inputs to support settlement strategies.
  • Interpret contract clauses and ensure project teams are aligned with contractual requirements.
  • Identify potential risks or deviations early and recommend commercially sound mitigation measures.
  • Support the preparation of notices and contractual correspondence.
  • Work closely with project managers, planners, cost engineers, site engineers, and finance teams.
  • Ensure alignment between technical, commercial, and contractual viewpoints.
  • Participate in regular claim review meetings and highlight critical issues.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the reporting manager to achieve divisional objectives.

 

Requirements and Skills

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Certification in contract management, claims management, or arbitration is an advantage.
  • Training in delay analysis techniques or dispute resolution is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in claims analysis, contract administration, or project controls within capital or large-scale construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience handling delay and cost claims, including preparation of claim files and entitlement analysis.
  • Experience with high-value disputes, arbitration support, or expert documentation is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC/NEC contract forms and multidisciplinary project environments.
