The Opportunity:
 
We have multiple Class 5 Drivers position available within our Visy Logistics Freight Team. With Visy you're NOT just a driver. You are part of a team where your contributions are valued, and your career can grow.  
 
Routes: Linehaul Routes from Timaru Ports - Metro Timaru - Regional areas.
Hours: Minimum 45 hours per week, full-time permanent positions.
 
What you'll do:
 
  • Operate a Class 5, Single or Double Truck & Trailer combination for timely and efficient freight pick-up and delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with our customers with a friendly service.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure your vehicle is roadworthy and compliant. 
  • Accurately complete electronic reporting systems and other required documentation. 
  • Comply with all company/site policies and state and national transport regulations, including Fatigue Management and Chain of Responsibility laws.
  • Adhere to all load restraint guidelines to ensure freight is securely transported. 
 
What you will bring to the team: 
 
  • A valid Clean Class 5 Licence.
  • Experience with Side Curtain, Single and Double Truck & Trailer and Container Trailers is highly desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of the Canterbury Region, Timaru Metro area and Ports.
  • Excellent communication, time management skills and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
  • A comprehensive understanding of road, fatigue, and load restraint laws. 
  • Pride in the presentation and maintenance of trucks and equipment.
