Viva Energy Australia is hiring a full‑time Cloud Engineer for onsite Melbourne, joining a high‑impact Cloud Platform team in Technology and Digital. You’ll design, build and operate scalable cloud‑native platforms across Azure and AWS, own infrastructure as code with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps, and oversee platform health, incidents and service requests. Expect to strengthen security, governance and FinOps while automating operational tasks with PowerShell, Azure CLI or Python, and collaborating with development and business teams. Job Description

Join a high-impact Cloud Platform Team within a forward-thinking Technology and Digital function, where you’ll play a key role in shaping and optimising modern cloud environments across Azure and AWS. In this role, you won’t just maintain infrastructure you’ll design, build and continuously improve scalable, cloud-native platforms that power critical systems.

You’ll take ownership of platform health and performance, proactively managing monitoring, incidents, and service requests to ensure reliability and resilience. With a strong focus on automation and innovation, you’ll leverage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Azure DevOps to deliver efficient, repeatable, and future-ready solutions.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Maintain and optimise the performance, availability, and health of Azure & AWS environments
• Monitor platforms end-to-end, manage incidents, and drive root cause resolution
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) for scalable deployments
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Design and deploy cloud solutions across compute, storage, networking, and serverless
• Strengthen platform security, governance, and cost optimisation (FinOps)
• Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python
• Collaborate with development and business teams to deliver secure, high-performing solutions

Qualifications

• Experienced Cloud Engineer working across enterprise-scale Azure and/or AWS environments
• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity (Entra ID / Active Directory)
• Experience improving platform reliability, performance, and scalability
• Comfortable working in complex, fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders
• Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and continuous improvement
