CNC Machining & Programming Technician

Position Summary
We are hiring an experienced CNC Machining Technician with strong programming and setup skills. This role is responsible for producing precision components by converting engineering drawings into finished parts using CNC milling and turning equipment.
This is a hands-on position suited for someone who can work independently, manage setups, write or edit programs, and consistently deliver high-quality results in a production environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review blueprints, machining drawings, and technical requirements to plan production
- Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and/or lathes
- Develop and modify G-code programs to support efficient machining
- Work with CNC controls such as Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, and Heidenhain (experience with all not required)
- Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and program adjustments
- Produce parts to tight tolerances (as close as 0.0005 inches)
- Inspect parts using precision measuring tools, including:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Dial bore gauges
- Monitor part accuracy throughout runs and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Follow quality procedures and safety guidelines at all times
- Coordinate with production leadership to meet deadlines and output goals
Required Qualifications
- Experience programming and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machining documentation
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and measurement methods
- Proven ability to hold tight tolerances and produce quality parts
- High attention to detail and consistency in work
- Reliable attendance and professional work habits
- Ability to safely work in an industrial environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Willingness to work overtime and scheduled Saturdays
Preferred Skills
- Experience editing and troubleshooting G-code
- Familiarity with multiple CNC control systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting team production goals
