The Department

The Multidisciplinary Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre (MAPrc) and HER Centre Australia are internationally recognised leaders in psychiatric research, committed to improving outcomes for people living with mental health conditions through innovative clinical research and evidence-based care. Working within a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, staff have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge clinical trials investigating novel treatments for psychiatric disorders while being supported by experienced clinicians, researchers, and trial specialists.

The Role

MAPrc and HER Centre Australia are seeking a motivated and organised Clinical Trials Coordinator to join a dynamic research team coordinating clinical trials involving novel pharmacological interventions for psychiatric disorders.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative and impactful clinical research. The successful candidate will play a key role in the coordination of clinical trials, working closely with investigators, participants, sponsors, and regulatory bodies. The role offers valuable experience in clinical trial coordination, participant engagement, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) compliance.

The Clinical Trials Coordinator will primarily oversee investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials investigating novel treatments for psychiatric disorders. Key responsibilities include:

· Participant recruitment, screening, enrolment, and retention

· Conducting and coordinating clinical and research assessments

· Study coordination and management across multiple clinical trials

· Preparation of ethics and regulatory submissions and maintenance of study documentation

· Data collection, entry, quality assurance, and database management

· Preparation for monitoring visits, audits, and sponsor interactions

· Ensuring compliance with study protocols, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory requirements

You will be highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a strong interest in clinical research and mental health. You will enjoy working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining excellent relationships with research participants and external stakeholders.

Experience and Qualifications Required

· Honours degree or higher qualification in Psychology, Health Sciences, Nursing, Biomedical Science, or a related discipline from a recognised university

· Demonstrated experience coordinating clinical research studies or clinical trials

· Sound knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ethics, and regulatory requirements governing clinical research

· Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and maintain high attention to detail

· Experience with participant recruitment, study documentation, data management, and research databases such as REDCap

Desirable:

· Experience in psychiatric research

· Experience coordinating industry-sponsored clinical trials

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
