CGL – Retail Services, part of the Clemenger Group, brings two respected retail marketing brands together, Creative Activation and Clemenger Field Marketing, to help top brands win on the shop floor. They work with retailers to lift sales and improve shopper experiences through merchandising, brand activations, training, mystery shopping and audits.

The company is recruiting for Creative Activation to support Coles as part of the CRT team, with the role based onsite in Booragoon, Australia. The posting signals an immediate start and training will be provided as you come on board, making it a good fit for someone who wants to learn on the job while contributing from day one.

While merchandising experience is helpful, the right attitude matters more here: you’ll thrive if you’re self-motivated, adaptable and good at prioritising tasks and communicating clearly with colleagues and store teams.

Keeping Coles aisles in check

In this role you’ll take charge of planograms and relays, set up point-of-sale materials, adjust pricing where needed and ensure ticketing is accurate across shelves. You’ll operate as part of the Coles CRT team, delivering accurate merchandising that aligns with brand guidelines and store standards, while finding ways to move tasks forward on your own and when collaborating with others.

Training and development are on offer as you work, giving you both the fundamentals and on-the-job coaching to sharpen your merchandising skills and time management as you visit different locations and handle tasks with precision.

The essentials you’ll bring

  • A self-starter who can adapt to changing priorities and solve problems as they come
  • Strong communication and organisational skills to keep tasks, stores and team members aligned
  • Ability to lift tasks weighing up to 15kg
  • Flexible weekday availability, with the ability to work on Fridays

Nice-to-haves for the role

  • Merchandising or retail experience is preferred
  • Experience with planograms, relays, and handling point-of-sale materials
  • Comfort working with a Coles account or similar major retailer as part of a field team

Pay, benefits and practical details

The role pays $34.34 per hour, plus superannuation. You’ll enjoy family-friendly flexible hours and a Monday-to-Friday schedule with no weekend work, with the chance to work close to home. Ongoing training and development are part of the package, along with an Employee Recognition Program and a supportive team culture. The position is onsite in Booragoon, and start is ASAP as the company looks to fill the role quickly.

Advice for applicants

Put your merchandising experience up front on your resume, especially any tasks that match planograms or relays, POS setup, pricing and signage so the team sees you can hit the ground running on Coles work.

Demonstrate your must-have skills with concrete examples: quick, independent task management, clear communication during store visits, and a track record of meeting deadlines while handling lifts up to 15kg.

Be prepared to talk through how you organise your day and prioritise across multiple locations, and how you’d fit a Monday-to-Friday schedule with Fridays in particular into your week.

Ask a practical question that shows you’re thinking about the role in the Coles CRT context, for example: how the onboarding training is structured and what success looks like in the first 90 days.
