KPMG Australia seeks a Commercial Analyst for a 12 month fixed term, full time onsite role in Perth to own the invoicing lifecycle, monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and supplier invoice reconciliation for a WA public sector learning project. You’ll build financial models, present insights to management, and partner with Finance to ensure accurate financial communications using SAP and Excel. Ideal candidate: 3+ years in a similar role with CA or CPA or working toward it, strong analytical skills, a process improvement mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively under pressure. KPMG has been appointed as the learning services partner to The Skills Academy - an exciting and innovative approach to skills development for the WA public sector workforce. This one sector approach to learning will deliver a comprehensive suite of courses via a new intuitive and modern technology platform to more than 35,000 staff across 56 participating agencies.
Developed in partnership with more than 150 subject matter experts from across the WA public sector, 120 courses will be designed specifically for the WA public sector context. Courses will cover a wide range of skills and foundational knowledge required of a modern public sector workforce.
Your Opportunity
The Commercial Analyst is responsible for the efficient and accurate invoicing process that ensures timely and reliable billing. It also includes establishing structured monthly reporting cycles, maintaining budget tracking, and supporting forecasting activities to provide a clear view of financial performance. In addition, the role manages the reconciliation and processing of supplier invoices to ensure accuracy, compliance, and smooth financial operations. Please note this is a 12-month Fixed Term contract.
A key responsibility is conducting detailed financial analyses to uncover trends, identify opportunities for improved efficiency, and highlight potential risks or concerns. The role also prepares and presents insightful financial reports to management, clearly articulating key business drivers and emerging financial trends to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
