The Opportunity: 

Are you a student looking for an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Supply Chain Management while working alongside industry leading professionals? If so, we have a variety of positions for you! Our Commercial Operations team has multiple opportunities to work in a fast-paced team environment and gain supply chain management and commercial experience through a variety of assignments and special projects. 

You will be a valuable member of one of the teams working with and contributing to a variety of areas, such as Procurement, Inventory, Contracts, Process & Continuous Improvement, or Business Analytics. You will develop your skills and add value while also having the chance to meet other students and partake in initiatives such as the Intern Social Committee and other corporate initiatives.

  • Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office
  • Shift schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday - Friday)
  • Multiple term lengths: 4, 8 or 12 months
  • Term starts: January or May 2027

Key Accountabilities:

Contracts Management Student:

  • Support the full sourcing cycle, including RFP/RFQ preparation, evaluations, contract awards, administration, and close-out
  • Provide administrative and compliance support by maintaining contract records, reviewing documentation, and ensuring adherence to Supply Management procedures
  • Analyze and validate data and conduct market research to support sourcing initiatives and identify cost-saving opportunities

Procurement & Inventory Student:

  • Support procurement and inventory activities to ensure materials are available at the right time, place, and cost
  • Assist in developing and applying procurement and inventory strategies in collaboration with business units
  • Work with internal teams and suppliers to support effective procurement execution and performance
  • Maintain and update procurement and inventory data within Supply Management systems
  • Support supplier performance tracking using key metrics (e.g., safety, operations, cost)
  • Assist with reporting and analysis to provide insights to support Supply Management decision making

Supply Chain Analytics Student: 

  • Collaborate with analysts and business users to identify reporting needs and opportunities
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to deliver actionable insights
  • Perform data analysis, mining, and modeling to support Supply Management initiatives

System/Process & Continuous Improvement Student:

  • Support the implementation of new technology solutions and enhancement initiatives across Supply Management
  • Assist in developing and testing digital tools, including Microsoft Copilot agents
  • Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and document results to support system enhancements and improvements

Supply Chain Governance & Training Student:

  • Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Supply Management policies, procedures, and governance documentation
  • Assist with onboarding and training administration activities
  • Manage SharePoint content and resources to improve access to information and support team collaboration

What You Bring to The Role:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Information Systems, Operations Management or similar programs
  • Business mindset with a daily focus on continuous improvement
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Effective with time management and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail
  • Utilizes a structured approach for problem solving
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interface with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and respond to the changing environment 

The following are considered assets:

  • Awareness of the fundamentals of buying, contract development/formation and contract administration
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Excel, Python, R, SQL, etc.
