Job Description

We are currently seeking a Part-Time Commis Chef to join our professional and energetic kitchen team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a dynamic hotel food and beverage operation, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner services, while helping to create memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare and present menu items with creativity and consistency, while adhering to cost controls
• Maintain strict stock rotation procedures and minimise waste
• Ensure all kitchen and work areas are kept clean, organised, and hygienic
• Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning as required
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and serviced, reporting any issues to the Head Chef

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A relevant trade qualification and experience in a similar role, ideally within a hotel or restaurant environment (dinner service experience essential)
• Strong technical cooking skills across a range of styles and techniques
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A commitment to maintaining high and consistent standards
• A sound understanding of food safety practices and HACCP principles
• Valid Australian working rights
• The flexibility to work across a rotating roster including early mornings, evenings, weekend & public holidays
