Job Description

Novotel & Adagio Premium Dubai Al Barsha is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis I to join our culinary team. As a Commis I, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes according to recipes and chef instructions
  • Stock and organize kitchen supplies, ensuring adequate inventory for daily operations
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely food preparation
  • Support senior chefs in menu planning and food presentation
  • Participate in daily kitchen briefings and team meetings
  • Assist in receiving and storing food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of ingredients
  • Contribute to the development of new recipes and menu items as directed
  • Perform basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients
  • Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Continuously learn and improve culinary skills under the guidance of experienced chefs

Qualifications

 

  • Basic culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Basic computer skills for using kitchen management systems
