Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commis III to join our culinary team at SO/ Uptown Dubai. As a Commis III, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, contributing to the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes that meet our exacting standards.

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to recipes and quality standards
  • Work efficiently in designated stations as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout service
  • Properly portion, prepare, and store ingredients to minimize waste and ensure food safety
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food production
  • Assist in the plating and presentation of dishes to meet specifications
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Support inventory management by participating in stock rotations and counts
  • Contribute to a positive kitchen environment through teamwork and communication
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary diploma preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or full-service hotel
  • Proficiency in various cooking techniques and methods
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
