Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) is seeking a Communications and Digital Specialist for a 0.4 FTE, three-year max term contract, based on site in Chatswood with hybrid options. This role supports the national Improving Social Connections program by crafting accessible digital content, managing Information Hub updates, and coordinating stakeholder communications to keep autistic people, families and carers informed and connected. Job Description

Help build a national legacy of connection and belonging for Autistic Australians. 

Funded through the National Autism Strategy, the Improving Social Connections program is a major new national initiative designed to strengthen peer connection, reduce social isolation and build belonging for Autistic people, families and carers across Australia.

Delivered by Aspect in partnership with Reframing Autism, the program will establish a national Framework, Information Hub, Community Partner network and resources that support meaningful, community-led peer connection opportunities across the country.

About the role

Help connect people with the information, opportunities and resources available through this nationally significant initiative.

As Communications and Digital Specialist, you will support the development of accessible communication and digital content that supports stakeholder engagement, Information Hub promotion and awareness of program activities. You will help ensure communities stay informed, engaged and connected.

Key responsibilities

• Develop communication materials and digital content
• Support Information Hub content management and updates
• Assist with stakeholder communications and engagement activities
• Create accessible and inclusive content across multiple channels
• Support events, campaigns and resource promotion
• Monitor communication performance and engagement
• Contribute to continuous improvement of communications activities

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in communications, marketing, digital media or related field
• Experience developing digital and written content
• Strong written communication and editing skills
• Experience managing digital channels and communication tools
• Understanding of accessibility and inclusive communication principles
• Strong organisational and relationship management skills
• Commitment to accessibility, inclusion and neurodiversity-affirming practice
• Experience working in the disability or community services sector
