Google is seeking a bilingual Communications Manager (Arabic-English) for full-time onsite in Dubai to lead communications around its business platforms with close collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Public Policy, and Product, while engaging media and influencers across the MENA region. The role calls for 4 years of communications experience in business, social media, traditional media, non-profit, or similar sectors, fluency in Arabic and English, and a track record of developing social campaigns, managing media relationships, and guiding a PR agency. To apply, tailor your CV with concrete campaigns and measurable outcomes, highlight cross geography teamwork and crisis handling, and show how you translate complex issues into clear narratives for journalists and stakeholders.
As a Communications Manager, you will be responsible for managing communications around our business platforms, corporate areas and the engaged landscape in which we operate. You will work closely with Sales, Marketing, Public Policy, and Product and other teams and will partner with media outlets and influencers, showing how we help others to grow and succeed. You'll also be responsible for managing media interest in who we are and what we do.
As a member of the Global Communications and Public Affairs team, you will create communications strategies and materials and campaigns based on understanding of journalists' interests, develop narratives supporting these campaigns, and counter inaccurate information that might interfere with our business and ability to serve our users. You will have to understand complex issues and explain them in person and via well written communications material including social media, blog posts, FAQs, and more.
It's our job to help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values, and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. To succeed here, you'll combine creativity with organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously, as well as enjoy pitching to journalists, bloggers and commentators, or producing internal communications and events for our employees. Things happen quickly at Google and to get stuff done here you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally and isn't hesitant to take risks or try new things.
