About The Role

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Community Officer to support our community engagement and initiatives at 44.01. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building relationships, coordinating events, and ensuring effective communication between the organization, community, key stakeholders, with a strong focus on raise awareness about 44.01 and its activities, and enhancing its reputation.

The position exists to enable 44.01 and the local community/communities to:

  • Build relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
  • Represent community concerns to the company.
  • Ensure that issues are resolved promptly, fairly and consistently.
  • Secure and maintain broad and long-term community support for the company’s activities.

What You'll Do

  • Act as a primary liaison between 44.01 and the community around our projects in Oman and the UAE, fostering relationships with local stakeholders, community members, government authorities and private sector partners.
  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies that promote awareness and understanding about 44.01 and its activities.
  • Organize and participate in community events, educational workshops, and outreach activities to drive awareness of our technology.
  • Support the company’s effort in local content and job creation initiatives.
  • Gather and record feedback from community members and stakeholders to enhance engagement initiatives and align them with 44.01’s mission.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure communities receive project updates regularly. 
  • Assist in creating reports and updates on community engagement activities, highlighting impact and progress.
  • Lead and participate in follow-up meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment with 44.01's community engagement strategy.
  • Regularly report to the Community Engagement Lead on initiatives, key performance metrics, outcomes, and impact.
  • Undertake other responsibilities as required to support the business in Oman and  the UAE.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in community engagement, sustainability initiatives, or outreach roles is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for climate action.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in event planning, public speaking, and community development.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and community management tools.
  • Strong understanding of environmental sustainability, carbon removal, and climate change topics is a plus.
  • Familiarity with carbon storage or oil & gas industry advantageous
  • Fluency in Arabic and English
