As Assistant Manager Virtual Testing you are a key contributor in the concept testing process by leading the execution and evaluation of virtual tests done on material, component and product level with structural mechanic tools for footwear, like Finite Elements Analysis (FEA). You will translate the results into recommendations for new product developments and validation. In addition, you will support standard setting for virtual and automated testing and foster innovation by collaboration with internal and external partners to deliver industry leading test environment for all material and product types and provide governance to external labs. This role works x-divisional for all business units and in close alignment with the Senior Manager Virtual Testing.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan and execute virtual testing capabilities mainly with structural mechanic software (FEA) for footwear or other computational 3D tools
  • Translate and communicate virtual test results to technical and non-technical audiences by creating & sharing clear result-based reports and presentations
  • Support improvement of virtual testing scenarios by reflecting real world experience to ensure that consumer requirements are met in virtual testing
  • Maintain virtual testing processes to scale virtual testing offer within adidas
  • Provide input for test standards and procedures to Standards and Compliance experts
  • Manage and enable data efficiency by consulting IT for new system development
  • Initiate innovation by staying connected to relevant current and upcoming research, technologies, methods, and industry trends in virtual testing.  Build an effective information network externally & internally for the assessment and implementation of new technologies.
  • Implement functional training by sharing knowledge on an on-going basis internally and externally
  • Support global initiatives that are connected to Product Testing

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Strong virtual testing background (Finite Element Analysis, CAD Modelling & Simulation)
  • Strong analytical skills, solution driven mindset
  • IT affinity, Data analysis skills of advantage
  • Keen to learn about development & manufacturing (product/material) associated with sports
  • Effective communication & strong relationships to key partners
  • Efficient organizing and presentation skills (larger groups of entities)
  • Advanced user level of Microsoft 365 (e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)
  • Language: fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team atmosphere

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • College or university degree in Enginnering, Mechanical Engineering / Sports Engineering / Material Science or related field
  • First working experience required
