Blackbird Interactive is seeking a Concept Artist for a five-month contract in Vancouver, onsite with flexible remote or hybrid options across Canada, including a four-day work week. You’ll report to the Art Director and help shape the look of a AAA sci‑fi action title, delivering 2D and 3D concepts for weapons, environments, apparel, and props while grounding ideas in the game universe and technical constraints. Key requirements are 3+ years in gameplay development, excellent design sense and art fundamentals, the ability to rapidly generate and communicate a wide range of visuals, and strong collaboration with Art Directors. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Art Director to expand artistic vision of established IP.
- Create both 2D and 3D concepts as required to produce a variety of AAA assets including weapons, apparel, environments and props.
- Curate in-depth knowledge of game universe with an eye for immersion.
- Develop ideas rapidly and provide workable variations based on technical constraints.
Requirements
- 3+ years of proven gameplay development experience.
- Excellent design sense, illustration skills and art fundamentals.
- Ability to quickly generate and communicate wide range of visual ideas.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment, experience with Art Directors.
- Detail oriented with strong practice of visual research.
