We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Foreman/Excavator Operator to lead and oversee maintenance works across a broad range of civil, construction, and infrastructure environments.
This exciting dual role blends hands-on expertise in operating heavy machinery with proven leadership in site management, crew coordination, and project delivery. You will play a crucial part in undertaking specialised tasks such as drop outs, infrastructure repairs, coastal works, and erosion control, all while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
In addition to the above you will:
Operate a 14-tonne excavator for a wide variety of tasks, including repairs, drop outs, coastal works, and erosion control
Lead and mentor the site crew, ensuring efficient teamwork and supporting skill development
Plan, coordinate, and deliver projects across roads, bridges, subdivisions, utilities, and coastal environments, meeting deadlines and quality targets
Promote and maintain a safe worksite by completing daily checks, reporting hazards, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures

We’re looking for someone with:
Current Class 4 licence – class 5 a bonus
WTR endorsements a must
Minimum 5 years civil construction experience
Experienced in supervising staff, interpreting plans, communicating, and leading teams effectively.
Strong practical knowledge of industry principles, materials, methods, and tools used in road construction and maintenance.
Proven experience operating large excavators in a civil or maintenance environment
