You will inspect ROWs for clearance compliance, identify tree and brush work, relay details to line-clearance crews, document with handheld devices, notify property owners, audit contractor work, discuss access issues, and tackle special projects, with willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and storms as needed. Ideal candidates bring practical tree-work experience, knowledge of local tree identification and physiology, and an ISA Certified Arborist credential or the ability to obtain it within six to twelve months, plus a Commercial Pesticide Applicator License, a valid driver’s license, and solid computer skills. We are currently looking to add a dynamic UVM Technician to our passionate team of environmental professionals.
The Utility Vegetation Management (UVM) Technician will inspect distribution utility right-of-ways and access to Right-of-Way (ROW) areas, for compliance with state clearance standards. Identify needed tree and brush control work and provide info to line-clearance crews. Document work using hand-held computer. Notify property owners of pending work on their property. Audit work completed by contractors. Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues. Special projects as assigned. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays and storms as needed.
