BBC StoryWorks, the award‑winning commercial brand studio within BBC Studios, is recruiting a Content Strategist to join its EMEA team in London. This is a full‑time, onsite role based at the BBC’s Television Centre, offering the chance to shape branded content solutions for a diverse portfolio of international clients. The company prides itself on storytelling that informs, entertains and engages audiences across the BBC’s global ecosystem.

The role sits at the crossroads of strategy, creativity and delivery, working with teams across Strategy, Creative, Production and the wider Ad Sales organisation. You’ll collaborate with editorial, marketing, design, web development and compliance colleagues to turn client briefs into market‑leading content ideas that resonate worldwide. If you relish turning insights into compelling ideas, guiding complex projects in a matrix environment, and presenting with confidence, this could be a fit.

You’ll be joining a team described as highly creative, collaborative and ambitious, with a track record of award‑winning work for major brands. It’s a setting for someone who enjoys teamwork but can also own tasks independently, manage stakeholders calmly, and stay focused under pressure while keeping an eye on the big picture. It’s a chance to contribute meaningful storytelling within a trusted global media organisation.

Shaping branded content for a global audience

On a day‑to‑day basis, you’ll craft market‑leading branded content solutions aligned to client objectives and designed for BBC’s international audiences. You’ll build persuasive pitch decks that clearly explain why a particular content approach is the right fit for the brief and how BBC StoryWorks can add value. You’ll stay close to data teams and keep a pulse on cultural and consumer trends to inform insights‑driven strategy, while coordinating with a broad set of stakeholders to ensure projects start with clear deadlines and expectations. You’ll also pitch and present proposals directly to clients and agencies, turning conversations into concrete plans.

What you’ll bring to the table

The essential criteria describe a problem‑solver with a creative streak, adept at turning ideas into strategic content solutions. You should have proven experience building pitch materials and using presentation tools such as PowerPoint. A background in branded content development from a publisher, agency or brand is important, along with the ability to translate audience insights into informed strategies and to stay up to date with media and advertising trends. A broad understanding of content formats and distribution channels in today’s media landscape is expected, as is clear, persuasive communication with clients and internal teams. You’ll need to manage deadlines while keeping both the big picture and the fine details in view.

If you can bring some of these skills and experiences, the team would love to hear from you. Given the high volume of interest, the application window may close earlier than anticipated to ensure a high level of attention for all applicants. This is a BBC Studios opportunity.

Pay, benefits and practical details

Compensation is proposed as up to £50,000 base salary, plus £5,441 London Weighting, plus a potential 20% Ad Sales Bonus depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The salary range reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. The role is full‑time and permanent, based onsite in London at the Television Centre as part of BBC StoryWorks EMEA.

Advice for applicants

Lead with your most relevant branded content experience on your resume, focusing on strategy development, client‑facing work and any hands‑on pitch creation you’ve done using PowerPoint.

Show how you prove you can turn audience insights into concrete strategy by highlighting a case where data informed a content solution and led to measurable results for a brand. If you have experience across multiple formats and platforms, pull out examples that demonstrate versatility and impact.

Be ready to talk through a past project that required collaboration across Strategy, Creative, Production and Ad Sales, including how you managed deadlines and aligned stakeholders with clear expectations. Bring a concise, ready‑to‑present case study or slide deck to illustrate your approach and storytelling skills.

Ask a smart question about how the team balances regional needs across Europe, the Middle East and Africa with global brand objectives, and how success is measured in the first six months for a Content Strategist working in this studio.
