Worley, a global energy, chemicals and resources expert headquartered in Australia, is seeking a Contracts Manager to join its Abu Dhabi team on a major project. The role is full-time and onsite, located in ARE-AD-Abu Dhabi City, with the requisition code ABU028X. The position reports to the Senior Project Control Specialist and sits within Worley’s project contracts function, focusing on procurement contracts.

This is a chance to work with a company that delivers projects across the asset lifecycle, from consulting through construction to operations and decommissioning. If you enjoy steering complex contracting work, coordinating with owners and EPC/FEED teams, and ensuring HSSE and contract processes stay on track in a multinational setting, you’ll fit in well here.

The role is well suited for someone who has deep oil and gas contract experience, a background in FEED and EPC environments, and a track record of PMC involvement in international projects. If you’re comfortable navigating multi-stakeholder relationships, balancing technical and commercial priorities, and driving contract governance in a fast-moving environment, this opportunity could be a strong match.

Guiding the EPC/FEED contract engine in Abu Dhabi

You’ll lead contract administration across the EPC/FEED lifecycle, ensuring adherence to the Project Execution Strategy and the Project Procurement and Materials Plan, while championing a safety-first culture and compliance with company policies. The day-to-day is about aligning the contractor’s performance with project expectations, reviewing Baselines and contract requirements, and ensuring responsibilities are clearly defined among the Owner, PMC teams and the EPC/FEED Contractor.

In practice, you’ll arrange kickoff sessions, monitor procurement activities, and manage insurance, Performance/Bank Guarantees and related documentation. You’ll oversee the handling of changes and the corresponding administrative tasks, including change orders, variations and interim/final payment certificates, while maintaining a clean, well-organized set of project records. Regular contract administration cadences, such as weekly reviews and monthly reporting, will keep the Owner and PMC teams aligned with the EPC/FEED Contractor, and you’ll produce Subcontract Administration Monthly Reports (SAMR) as required, along with the Owner’s EPC/FEED Contract Administration Monthly Report.

Your collaboration extends to evaluating contractor performance, reviewing reports for potential delays or claims, and contributing to the project’s risk management by identifying issues early and coordinating with legal advisors when needed. You’ll also manage the contract close-out process, ensuring all warranties, final accounts and close-out certificates are properly completed and the project records reflect a complete chronology of the work.

The things you must bring to the table

These are the core qualifications and experiences that will set you up for success in this role. The pace is steady, but expectations are exacting, and you’ll need a strong foundation in engineering and project contracts.

  • A four-year engineering bachelor’s degree
  • More than 20 years of experience in oil and gas from across projects and disciplines
  • At least five years of experience working in the GCC region
  • Hands-on experience with FEED and EPC contracting approaches
  • Proven involvement in PMC roles on projects
  • At least five years in a similar position for international oil and gas projects

Nice-to-haves that could help your candidacy

These are additional strengths that may give you an edge, though they’re not listed as strict requirements.

  • Experience with ADNOC is preferable

Pay, benefits and practical details

This is a full-time, on-site employee position based in Abu Dhabi, working at senior management level within Worley’s contract administration team. The posting provides no salary figures or specific benefits, so you’ll learn more about the full package during the interview process.

Advice for applicants

Lead with your senior, project-level experience in the opening of your resume. Start with your engineering degree and the 20+ years you’ve spent in oil and gas, then highlight five-plus years in the GCC, FEED/EPC exposure, and PMC roles on international projects.

When you describe your must-have capabilities, tell a concrete story of managing an EPC/FEED contract from kickoff to close-out. Include how you handled insurance, performance guarantees, change management, and the resolution of issues that affected cost or schedule, plus how you kept SAMR and other monthly reports on track.

For interview prep, be ready to walk through your approach to balancing owner and EPC/FEED contractor interests, how you assess and mitigate project risks, and a time you influenced a contract outcome through careful administration or negotiation. Bring a few examples of changes you managed and how you documented them to protect project value.

Consider asking a targeted question about the contract administration setup on the Abu Dhabi project. For example, inquire how Worley structures contract governance across Owner, PMC, and EPC/FEED teams in this environment and what project records management tools are used to maintain a clear chronology of events and decisions.
