ENGIE, a global reference in low-carbon energy and services, is expanding its on-site team for a key project in Abu Dhabi. With about 96,000 employees worldwide, ENGIE focuses on accelerating the transition to a carbon-neutral world by delivering efficient energy solutions. The Project Contract Manager role is permanent and full-time, based at the project site in Abu Dhabi, and is well suited to someone who has a strong track record in construction contract management, especially on large infrastructure or power projects.

In this position you would help keep contracts compliant with the project agreement and regulatory requirements while steering claims management and risk mitigation. You’ll review contracts to spot risks and opportunities that could affect value, and you’ll advise on how contract clauses may impact project outcomes. The role requires close collaboration with EPC contractors, the project team, and ENGIE’s legal function to maintain robust documentation and ensure changes are properly handled. It’s a hands-on onsite role that may involve regional travel as needed.

If you’re organized, a capable negotiator, and comfortable working across functions in a multinational environment, this could be a strong fit. You’ll need to explain complex contract terms clearly, help the project team understand their obligations, and drive contract administration that supports project goals while upholding SHEQ standards.

What You’ll Do as the Project Contract Manager in Abu Dhabi

You’ll monitor and support claims management and review contractual documents to identify risks and opportunities that can optimize project value, providing clear guidance on the implications of contract clauses. You’ll ensure that contract management activities align with the project contract and regulatory requirements, and you’ll develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate contract-related risks.

You’ll negotiate directly with the EPC contractor to resolve contractual issues and ensure compliance with contract terms and the power purchase agreement. You’ll manage events such as notifications, changes, contract communications and documentation, and you’ll liaise with the Project Company EMD, Construction Director, Owners Engineer, and the legal team to review critical contractual correspondences.

You’ll review the arrangement and administration of bonds, guarantees and insurances in accordance with the contractual obligations, and you’ll monitor contract execution against identified KPIs like deliverables, milestones and overall performance. You’ll ensure that project management staff are fully aware of their contractual obligations, participate in contract briefings, and respond to contractual queries while supporting proactive issue resolution.

You’ll advise on the contractual implications of proposed changes and ensure that any changes resulting from change requests are drafted and approved by the relevant parties. You’ll work with the legal team to maintain and update legal documents, support the collection and sharing of Return of Experience and Lessons Learned, and schedule contract management tasks so they don’t interfere with project goals. You’ll develop and implement plans for contract administration and compliance, and promote SHEQ procedures and guidelines throughout contract management.
