Webasto is seeking a Controls Engineer for a full time onsite role in Lexington, KY, within Production & Operations. You’ll develop and modify PLC programs for automated equipment, troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robotics and safety systems, and integrate sensors, machine vision and industrial networks. You will also create and maintain controls documentation and support equipment launches and continuous improvement initiatives in a cross functional, international environment that uses SAP and dashboards. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in Electrical, Controls, Automation or Mechatronics, 3+ years in manufacturing controls (preferably automotive), and strong experience with Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens platforms. Production & Operations focuses on designing, managing, and improving production processes and business operations, as well as manufacturing technologies and supply chains. The role involves working with modern systems such as SAP and dashboards, some of which are self-programmed. You can look forward to these exciting tasks

• Develop and modify PLC programs for automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, and quality systems
• Troubleshoot and optimize PLCs, HMIs, robotics, motion controls, and safety systems to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime
• Integrate sensors, machine vision, motion systems, and industrial networks into production equipment
• Create and maintain controls documentation, electrical schematics, and automation standards
• Support equipment launches, capital projects, supplier activities, training, and continuous improvement initiatives

This is what you bring to us

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field
• 3+ years of controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
• Strong PLC programming experience using ladder logic and structured text, including development of new control systems
• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens PLC platforms, industrial networking, and automation systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with robotics, machine vision, motion control, and related automation technologies
