JOB SUMMARY:Reporting to the Manager of the Adult Day Centre, and working within the program’s goals and objectives, prepares, serves and stores a variety of food and snack items. Assists program workers clients in baking projects and other activities suitable in the kitchen area. Maintains the cleanliness of work areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Graduation from a recognized 12 month program in cooking and recent, related experience cooking for seniors, including those with modified diet and/or food texture needs, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Current Food Safe Certificate required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.• Ability to operate related equipment.• Ability to work independently and as a member of the team.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
