The opportunity

Delaware North Australia is hiring a full time Coordinator Workforce to play a critical role in ensuring our operational teams are fully supported to deliver exceptional race day and event experiences.

 

From 1 April, Delaware North will commence its new partnership with the Victoria Racing Club (VRC), delivering world‑class hospitality and event experiences at the iconic Flemington Racecourse. This position will initially be required to support VRC; however flexible to work across our other Melbourne venues. 

The Coordinator Workforce is responsible for coordinating and rostering a large casual workforce, ensuring optimal coverage across departments and events. This role sits at the heart of operations, balancing workforce planning, real‑time staffing needs and team member support to enable seamless, world‑class event delivery.

Working closely with Operations, Human Resources and Payroll, you will be the primary point of contact for roster management, shift allocation and workforce coordination across race days, major events and business‑as‑usual operations.

What you will do?

  • Coordinate end‑to‑end rostering of casual team members across race days, major events and operational periods
  • Ensure staffing levels align with operational requirements 
  • Manage availability, shift allocations, roster changes and last‑minute staffing requirements
  • Act as the primary point of contact for team members regarding rosters, shifts and staffing enquiries
  • Maintain accurate workforce records, availability and compliance
  • Provide on‑the‑ground staffing support during events, including redeployment to meet live operational needs
  • Follow up and resolve no‑shows and late cancellations to minimise operational impact
  • Partner with HR and Operations to support onboarding, inductions and mobilisation of new team members
  • Collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate timesheets, data integrity and reporting
  • Support continuous improvement of workforce and rostering processes

More about you

  • Previous experience in workforce coordination, staffing or rostering within a high‑volume environment(hospitality, events, venues or similar industries highly regarded)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage complex rosters under pressure
  • An unwavering ability to coordinate teams to deliver optimal service standards
  • Clear and confident communicator with a strong focus on team member support
  • High attention to detail and strong administrative capability
  • Comfortable using workforce management and rostering systems
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support peak event periods, including weekends and major race days
  • Flexible to support and travel to other Melbourne venues.
