DEPT® is seeking a Copywriter for a 6‑month fixed term contract in Toronto with hybrid onsite work to develop on brand copy and manage AI assisted content for a major telecommunications client. You’ll report to the Creative Director, elevate the brand through narrative development, UX writing, and concise multichannel copy, and translate complex ideas into simple stories. Requirements: 3–5 years in a copywriter role, experience with generative AI tools, basic Figma familiarity; agency experience a plus. This role is part of our Global Studios team. We create emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products and campaigns at scale and speed. Our specialty is hyper-personalised, digital communications that change perceptions, shape new behaviours, and shift market share for our clients.
JOB PURPOSE
You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering on-brand copy, working with AI-generated content across multiple platforms for one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies. You possess a strong intuition and want to continue to learn, grow and challenge yourself. You are inspired by technology and the role a simple narrative plays in culture today. You thrive navigating complexity within teams, organizations, and creativity.
You also have a strong desire to ensure that clients are extremely satisfied with our services and products. In addition, you possess strong problem-solving skills and a track record of success. You will be dealing with multiple personality types, and need to be able to adapt based on the person you are working and communicating with.
In your role, you will report to the Creative Director who will drive the strategy and direction for the creative team. You will support the strategic goals of the company by focusing on the success of these activities and assisting with meeting the short and long-term objectives of the organization.

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $55,000 – $60,000 CAD. Salary is based on relevant experience, expertise, and organizational impact.
