Job Summary

The Manager, Corporate Development position is focused on acheiving the strategic growth efforts of Day & Zimmermann. The role advises the business unit executive teams, working as an internal consultant, effectively acting as an M&A Growth Champion for the enterprise. This includes executing valuation and analytical projects that support business unit objectives and advising on efforts to instill strategic growth mindset throughout the business. The role is also responsible for directing, developing and implementing the processes, tools, and analytics that optimize Day & Zimmermann's efforts enterprise-wide to drive inorganic growth

Responsibilities

  • Competitive Benchmarking Leadership: Lead the Annual Benchmarking Process for the enterprise with the VP, Corporate Development and CFO, ensuring best practices in competitor analysis are leverged and refining corporate and business unit strategies to ensure they are positioned for successful execution. Perform and support efforts to conduct market research and competitor analysis. Provide market, competitor and benchmarking input to the businesses. Facilitate BU input and review sessions. 20%
  • M&A Leadership: With VP, Corporate Development lead and support the team to develop an M&A pipeline, and on the deal execution process as required. Lead valuation process, and perform analysis and due diligence as demanded. 40%
  • Training and Communication: Develop and enhance new and existing templates and training efforts. Support Organizational Development and Change Management by collaborating with functional departments and business units to improve people and performance issues around M&A by realigning our people and business strategies. Upgrade M&A capabilities of the organization through creation and deployment of training programs and leadership on M&A projects. 20%
  • Strategy Support: Support VP, Corporate Development and Business Unit (BU) Leaders in identifying and analyzing on key growth and margin expansion opportunities, and opportunities for competitive differentiation. Provide assessment and thought on the strategic fit, synergy potential, and key risks to enable the executive team make well-informed investment decisions. Constructively challenge the organization drive growth and revenue synergy, improve profitability, and sustain competitive advantage through M&A and partnering. Lead process to ensure business unit input and ownership of growth opportunities thorugh M&A. Drive the socialization and champion M&A growth ideas and opportunities with key stakeholders to secure alignment and facilitate execution. 20%

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Deep understanding of M&A and Competitor Benchmarking related activities for a variety of industries, including knowledge of best practices and trends in business strategy differentiation though M&A leadership. Demonstrated ability in facilitating M&A pipeline and deal processes.
  • Deep understanding of the M&A valuation processes and practices. Demonstrated ability in financial analysis and company valuation, driving revenue and cost synergies, deal structuring and, cultivating entrepenuership and ownership while enforcing company guidelines and applicable law.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to artfully influence, persuade and drive action.
  • Proven ability to work effectively cross-functionally with senior levels in the organization.
  • Experience with M&A research and valuation tools required (S&P Capital IQ, PitchBook)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Business Administration, Marketing or related field required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $107,200 - $160,800. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
