We are looking for a CSV Smart Technology Trainee to join our Computerized System Validation (CSV) team on a 2 years fixed term contract.
In this role you will contribute to ensuring that innovative technologies are scientifically sound, fit for intended use, compliant with regulatory expectations, and aligned with Lonza's digital transformation strategy. Through participation in cross-functional projects, the you will gain hands-on experience applying engineering, quality, and data science principles to support the safe, reliable, and compliant deployment of next-generation digital solutions.
This role is primarily based on site. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards. We offer flexibility to work remotely for no more than 20% of your time. Requests are considered on a case‑by‑case basis, in line with business needs.

What you will do:
Support the technical assessment and validation of innovative and AI/ML-enabled systems.
Contribute to risk-based assessments by analysing system functions, data flows, model behaviour, failure modes, and potential impacts on data integrity, product quality, or process reliability.
Support the preparation and review of validation deliverables such as requirements, risk assessments, test protocols, test evidence, traceability records, and summary reports.
Develop small scripts, data-analysis workflows, or automated checks to support efficient and reproducible validation activities, with appropriate version control and documentation.
Collaborate with CSV, Quality, Engineering, IT/OT, R&D, system owners, data scientists, and suppliers to understand systems and translate technical information into clear validation evidence.
Build working knowledge of GxP computerized system validation, data integrity, and evolving expectations for AI/ML-enabled systems through guided project work, training, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities within the CSV team.
Complete assigned training, mentoring activities, and development objectives throughout the trainee program.
What we are looking for:
Degree (Bachelor, Master, PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering, or a related field.
Understanding of AI/ML concepts and data analytics.
Programming experience in Python; scripting and automation experience is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
Effective communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.
Interest in GxP, CSV, data integrity, and regulated environments.
Curious, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-evolving digital environment.
Willingness to travel globally up to 15%
