An exciting full-time Customs Declarant role with Bertelsmann, onsite in Gennep or the new Puttershoek location, offering a steep learning curve in the international supply chain and a chance to build the customs process for a new customer with your team. You will manage and verify imports, exports and transit processes, prepare and check declarations, monitor compliance, support audits, and liaise with carriers, customers, authorities and internal colleagues. The ideal candidate has a mid or higher education, English fluency, MS Office proficiency, and a passion for logistics and administration; customs training or prior experience is a plus. YOUR TASKS

• Responsible for managing and checking the processes and documentation related to the import, export and transit of various goods under customs supervision;
• Involved in managing the international goods traffic;
• Collecting data, prepare and process customs declarations and checking the related processes based on the applicable customs legislation;
• Identify any deviations and discuss them with the people involved to meet current customs legislation;
• Support physical checks and audits;
• You’ll be in touch with external parties (carriers, customers, customs authorities) and internal parties (colleagues from all levels).

YOUR PROFILE

• Flexibility to work in shifts: earliest start at 05:30 and latest finish at 21:30 on weekdays. In addition, you are available 1-2 Saturdays per month between 05:30 and 14:00;
• You have completed a middle or higher education level;
• A recognized customs training course is an advantage;
• Any work experience in customs is an advantage;
• Knowledge of MS Office;
• Affinity with logistics processes and administrative tasks;
• Proficiency of the English language is essential.
