Job Description

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and motivated Dental Assistant / Receptionist to join our team at Lumino Silverstream in Upper Hutt.

This unique role offers a combination of permanent part-time hours as a Dental Assistant, along with the opportunity to pick up additional casual Dental Assistant and Receptionist shifts to cover annual leave and team absences.

As a Dental Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting our clinicians during a variety of dental procedures. You'll be responsible for instrument sterilisation, infection control, stock management, and ensuring treatment rooms are prepared and maintained to a high standard.

As a Receptionist, you'll be the welcoming face and voice of the practice. You'll support patients with their enquiries, manage appointment bookings, process payments, complete administrative tasks, and help create a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

No two days are the same, making this a rewarding opportunity to develop a broad range of skills within a supportive and patient-focused environment.

Permanent Part-Time Hours (Dental Assistant):

• Monday: 8:15am – 5:00pm

Additional Casual Hours:

• Available to cover staff leave, sickness, and roster gaps as required

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Previous Dental Assistant experience (preferred), although full training can be provided for the right person
• Sterilisation, customer service, or healthcare experience advantageous
• A warm, positive, and team-oriented attitude
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic
• Good computer skills and confidence learning new systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for delivering outstanding patient care
• Valid New Zealand work rights
