Overview
The Data Associate is a key member of the Rainmaker Data Team, supporting the delivery of data, insights, and market intelligence to the Australian financial services industry.
This position will provide the opportunity to become a Funds Management Data Specialist, covering funds management businesses, their investment portfolios, platforms, performance data and the key people involved. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in data collection, surveys, data entry, data auditing, internet research, and insights into the Funds Management sector within Australia.
Responsibilities
Conduct quarterly surveys for fund managers and perform related data entry
Collect and maintain monthly performance data
Maintain relationships with data providers and ensure consistent data flow
Research websites, annual reports, and other sources for relevant information
Monitor key media covering the Australian financial services market
Maintain and update internal databases
Communicate progress, outputs, and deadlines effectively within the team
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field is a plus
Must have 0–4 years of experience in data, research, or survey-related roles (Open to Fresh Graduates)
Strong interest in data, financial services, investments, or funds management
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong research and internet navigation skills
Proficiency in MS Office tools (especially Excel)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage tasks independently
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
