Data Center Technician Intern, 2027
GoogleGoogle is hiring a Data Center Technician Intern for 2027 to join its Groningen, Netherlands campus. This onsite role sits within Google’s Data Center Engineering group, which designs, builds and maintains the physical backbone that powers its services. The program targets students in the EMEA region who want hands-on exposure to data centers and network infrastructure. If you enjoy practical work with hardware and networks and want to see how large-scale infrastructure operates, this could be a good fit.
As an intern, you’ll help with installing, configuring and troubleshooting hardware such as servers and their components, and you’ll work with server software like Google’s Linux cluster. You’ll learn to configure and manage network gear, routers, hubs, bridges and switches, and you may assist with moving equipment and rack installation. There’s also a chance to join small project teams on larger installations, giving you a solid start in data center operations and network infrastructure.
Note: the role requires a 13-week full-time internship in Groningen starting in May, June or July 2027, and you should be in your penultimate or final year of study in an eligible program in the EMEA region.

This internship lets you see how ideas translate into real-world infrastructure and how costs are managed without compromising reliability or environmental goals.
During the internship you’ll gain hands-on experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting hardware, including servers and their components, as well as server software like Google’s Linux cluster. You’ll also learn to set up and manage network components such as routers, hubs, bridges and switches, and you might help with manual movement and rack installation of equipment. There’s potential to participate in or lead small project teams on larger installations, which can give you a meaningful early win in data center operations and network infrastructure.
