Data Logger Operative (Maintenance) - South East Water - SWAP Candidate Only

Purpose and Scope of the Role
Tetra Tech is recruiting Data Logger Operatives (Maintenance) to support our South East Water contract across Basingstoke, Kent and Sussex. You will deploy, install, maintain and retrieve pressure logging equipment across the water network, collect and upload data, read network plans and identify fittings for safe deployment. Working closely with Line Managers and operational colleagues, you will help deliver accurate, timely information that supports leakage reduction, service resilience and regulatory performance across critical infrastructure.

Your Impact in This Position
In the short term, you will build confidence in field operations, safe systems of work and customer-facing delivery. Over time, you will develop specialist knowledge of pressure logging and water network operations, contributing to high-value projects that protect supply, reduce leakage and improve network performance. Longer term, this role offers a clear pathway for progression within a technical and operational environment, supported by structured development and varied field experience.

Core Capabilities Required for Success

  • Field Operations Delivery

    • Confidently carry out logging deployment, maintenance and data collection tasks to a high standard, working accurately and safely in live operational environments.
  • Technical Understanding

    • Read network plans and schematics, identify fittings and use equipment effectively. Pressure logger experience is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Safety and Compliance

    • Apply safe working methods at all times, with an understanding of health and safety requirements, lone working and operational controls.
  • Customer and Team Communication

    • Communicate clearly with colleagues, clients and customers, coordinating weekly activity and representing Tetra Tech professionally.
  • Digital and Administrative Skills

    • Use Microsoft Office and complete forms, timesheets and operational records accurately and on time.

Qualifications and Training
Essential: Full UK manual driving licence, EUSR National Water Hygiene. Desirable: Streetworks, Confined Space (Medium Risk), Valve Ops.

Work Patterns and Locations
This is a field-based role covering Basingstoke, Kent and Sussex. You must be willing to travel, work outdoors in all weather and support occasional evenings, weekends, early starts or night work. Hybrid or remote working is limited due to the operational nature of the role.
