Foodstuffs Foodies is hiring a Deli Operations Specialist to champion deli and meal solutions across New World and PAK’nSAVE stores in the Lower North Island, a full-time onsite field role blending coaching, merchandising and innovation. You’ll partner with Store Managers to deliver high-quality deli offers, lead displays, coach Deli Managers, and drive sales while reducing waste, plus roll out new products. The package includes a company car, onsite meals and flexible working. We want genuine deli passion, solid experience in deli or supermarket operations, strong merchandising and coaching skills, and willingness to travel; SAP preferred. About the Role

We’re looking for a highly passionate and creative Deli Operations Specialist to champion deli and meal solutions across New World and PAK’nSAVE stores in the Lower North Island.

 

This is a hands-on, field-based role where you’ll inspire teams, elevate merchandising standards, and bring innovation to life in-store. You’ll work closely with Store Managers and Deli Teams to deliver an outstanding fresh food experience that excites customers and drives performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support stores to deliver exceptional deli offers, with a strong focus on quality, freshness, and innovation
  • Champion best-in-class merchandising standards, ensuring displays are visually inspiring, abundant, and customer-focused
  • Coach and develop Deli Managers and teams to build capability, confidence, and consistency
  • Drive sales, margin, and waste improvement through strong operational practices and product execution
  • Support the rollout of new products, concepts, and seasonal initiatives across both banners
  • Partner with store leadership teams to identify opportunities to elevate the deli experience and unlock growth
  • Encourage creativity and continuous improvement, bringing new ideas and trends into stores (eg. creating new recipes and rolling these out)

What We’re Looking For

  • A genuine passion for deli, fresh food, and food trends
  • Strong experience in deli, fresh food, or supermarket operations
  • A natural ability to create high-impact, visually appealing merchandising displays
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on performance and results
  • Excellent coaching and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work across multiple locations
  • Flexibility to travel regularly across the Lower North Island
  • SAP experience (preferred)
