A day in your life at Bupa Burnside
In this role, you’ll help deliver safe, high-quality dental care and positive patient outcomes by assisting during clinical procedures, maintaining infection control standards, sterilising equipment, and keeping treatment rooms clean, organised, and ready for patients. You’ll be at the chair side, handling instruments, using suction, mixing materials, and assisting with X-rays, all while keeping a good grasp of dental instrumentation. You’ll also ensure rooms and equipment are cleaned and prepared in line with BDC procedures and WHS requirements, supporting a smooth and efficient workflow.

What you’ll need to step in
To be considered, you’ll need a background in dental assisting or a Certificate III in Dental Assisting, which is highly regarded, and you’re encouraged to apply if you have a genuine interest in building a dental career. You should demonstrate solid chair-side assistance skills, including instrument handling, suction, mixing materials, X-ray support, and a strong understanding of dental instruments. A thorough approach to infection control is essential, with the ability to clean, prepare, and maintain treatment rooms, instruments, and equipment in line with BDC procedures and WHS requirements. Finally, you’ll bring excellent communication and people skills, a patient-focused mindset, and the ability to perform well in a busy, high-volume dental practice while contributing to a supportive team culture.
