SGS Australia is seeking a Design Draftsperson for the Energy Minerals team in Alexandria NSW to design and develop mechanical sampling systems, produce concept through detailed drawings, perform engineering calculations, and liaise with clients and fabricators to meet project and industry standards. You’ll use AutoCAD 2D/3D and Inventor, reuse existing models, and deliver accurate manufacturing drawings on schedule. The ideal candidate has high proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor, solid mechanical or industrial drafting experience, intermediate MS Office, a current driver’s license, and excellent communication. The Energy Minerals business unit, based in Alexandria NSW, has a Technical Services team with extensive experience providing a wide range of mechanical sampling services to the coal and minerals industry, including the design, manufacture, and supply of sampling systems. We currently have an opening for a Design Draftsperson.
As a Design Draftsperson, you will play a key role in the design and development of mechanical sampling systems and equipment. You will be responsible for preparing engineering calculations, concept designs, 3D modelling, general arrangements, and detailed designs, including minor structural work. You will also liaise with clients and suppliers regarding drawing issues and ensure all designs meet project and industry standards.
