About the Role

We are seeking a Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design delivery across major renewable energy projects.

The role requires a technically strong engineer with demonstrated leadership capability and a clear understanding that effective design extends beyond drawings to coordination, program control, accountability and support of construction outcomes.

Responsibility includes full ownership of design from early concept through through progressive design stage milestones and Issued for Construction, ensuring scope is delivered in line with agreed program and budget.

Location: Perth, WA

Roster: Monday to Friday, with occasional site travel as required 

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead and coordinate all design activities from concept to IFC.
• Develop and manage the Design Execution Plan, deliverables register and discipline responsibilities.
• Own design program milestones and proactively manage schedule risks.
• Coordinate civil, structural, electrical and mechanical interfaces.
• Manage external consultants against scope, budget and deliverables.
• Facilitate design coordination meetings and drive resolution of technical queries and clashes.
• Identify and manage design risks, supporting HAZID and review processes.
• Ensure design documentation is complete, consistent and ready for construction.

You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Civil preferred.
• 8+ years in engineering design environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary design teams.
• Proven capability managing design budgets and schedules.
• Experience delivering utility scale solar PV and or BESS projects highly regarded.
• Strong grounding in civil works for renewable projects including earthworks, drainage, roads and site development.
• Confident leading engineers, holding standards and keeping design moving under pressure.
• Understands that good design supports construction, not the other way around.
