Bombardier is hiring a Development Technologist in Cabin Innovation for the Dorval Plant 3 in Quebec, a full-time onsite role that supports the entire development and design cycle of aircraft interiors from concept to prototype. You’ll translate 2D drawings into 3D models, develop cabinet and system components, draft specs, and help iterate through testing and design reviews while applying ergonomic and manufacturing expertise. To thrive, bring a technical diploma in aerospace or mechanical engineering and 7 to 10 years’ design experience, ideally with Catia or NX; strong problem solving, collaboration, and bilingual French/English are key. What are your contributions to the team?
- Be involved in the entire development and design process.
- Translate 2D drawings and concept into 3D models, assemblies and kinematics.
- Develop cabinet, mechanism and system components from concept to final prototype.
- Participate in the development of drawings and technical specifications for prototype.
- Integrate and/or generate ergonomic and mechanical assemblies.
- You have knowledge of the specifications, design, and integration of aircraft interior systems.
- Improve prototype concepts through the process of iteration, testing and design review.
- Provide solutions and resolve complex problems using manufacturing and prototyping techniques.
- Conduct studies, analyzes and calculations to guide, using general and specific technical parameters, design technicians and project directors in their work.
- Work on the development, design and testing of various mechanical systems.
- Help to demonstrate the feasibility of the concept through presentation.
How to thrive in this role?
- You have a technical diploma in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
- You have 7 to 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in the field of mechanical design.
- You have great motivation to take on challenges and great determination to achieve results, bringing strong technical skills, an understanding of manufacturing processes as well as a good problem-solving approach.

- Knowledge of Catia and NX deisgn software is an asset
